About
Kink & Kettle was born out of a longstanding desire to write more regularly, with intention, about the things I care about the most. I’ve spent the greater part of my life wanting to be a writer, and it’s only in recent years that I’ve discovered—from my adventures in dating, kink, sex work, and more—what all I want to spend my time writing about.
I’ve always been drawn to people who live outside of conventional norms. I love stories about best friends who co-parent together and people who’ve followed their hearts to unconventional career paths. So it was only a matter of time before I discovered a home in queer, kink, and non-monogamous communities, and it was only a matter of time before I realized sex work was an option for me, and took the leap.
Recently, someone asked me to consider the question of why I write. And while I’m sure the answer will evolve over time, right now I can confidently say this: I write because I believe what I say matters, and I believe people like me—who fall on the margins in some shape or form—deserve to take up space. I write because I believe that good writing has the power to transform the world for the better. And lastly, I write for myself—for the creative expression it brings me and for the desire of being heard.
